Meeting Minutes Feb. 12 2014

In attendance: Sam, Adam, Jacki, Arielle, Leyna and Royce



1. THE TOGA SOCIAL:
-Reminder = MARCH 8th 2014
-Doors will open at 8:30, Drink start at 9PM and it goes till 1 AM
-Set up will start at 6PM, Social Basket Making will begin earlier on in the day, but after lunch.
-Please remember to sell, sell, sell those tickets. Tell your classes, friends and family about it. PLEASE, also hand out Social Donation Letters - there are some in the common room ready to go.
-We're getting coat racks for free, we're also using their sound system/tech. and the liquor license is being bought next week.
- No word back on food prizes, or what we have prize wise yet - but we'll know more next week/the week after.
-We're going to talk to Alexandra about a music list and Arielle has talked to Nikki about paper for the tables
-VISTING CLASSES = most of them are down, just a few left to do yet.

2. BAKE SALE
-the Classics 'grape-vine' failed this week, in informing people of the bake sale/ making things for the bake sale... and a general mis-communication -so we're going to do better on that.
-We're going to have a BAKE SALE the week after reading week! So get baking, and if not you should come on over and visit us in front of Riddell Hall. We'll be promoting the SOCIAL and COLLOQUIUM along with the bake sale so expect some pamphlets and posters around.

3. FRIDAY FEB.14 = VALENTINE'S DAY
DR. FAULKNER (WATERLOO) will be delivering  'Paraphrasing the Divine: Tradition and Innovation in Late Antique Christian Poetry' in 2C13
-coffee is at 3:30, Lecture at 4PM

4. UWCSA STUDENT COLLOQUIUM
-REMINDER= MARCH 22
-Abstracts are due soon!!! So get them in PLEASE.

5.Please be Advised ... THE HOODIES ARE IN!!!!  Hoodies ended up costing $40 total, so if you ordered one or would like one please be sure to pay either Arielle or Leyna before you take one. (We have our eyes everywhere... : D ) Thank you.
-As for the Totes, Leyna is trying the best she can to get them, but the whoever runs the website we want to order from hasn't been returning all of our emails/questions so please be patient a bit longer with us while it gets sorted out.

6.READING WEEK
-POMPEII is supposed to come out on Friday? Anyone interested in going on the TUESDAY of Reading Week?
-Potluck purposed? But we'd need a place to hold it.
-Pub Night

7. The Anthro Students/Linguistics Dept. are hosting their own Colloquium in April , there is a poster up in the common room with details
-we recommend you go out and support them, and it's good to see how it's done.
